Skill Requirements

Amoxie Consultants must have well developed, general office skills, such as typing, filing, and the ability to operate office equipment such as computers, fax machines, and copiers. Consultant must be able to communicate (read, write, and speak) English proficiently in order to receive and provide related information in a timely manner.

Mental Demands

The Amoxie Consultant is required to maintain professional communication and ethical behavior at all times. Amoxie Group has adopted the Texas Educators’ Code of Ethics and Professional Standards and expects consultants to conduct themselves accordingly. Public relations and people skills are required. Amoxie Consultants may work with frequent interruptions and are required to maintain professional composure under stress.

Physical Demands

While performing duties with Amoxie Group, the consultant may be required to sit for prolonged and irregular hours; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear regularly. The consultant frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The Amoxie Consultant is occasionally required to stand and walk. The Amoxie Consultant may routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Work Environment

Work Environments at Amoxie Group are usually moderate but can vary depending on the job assignment of the consultant. Travel is an integral part of each position with Amoxie Group and may require travel throughout the district, school, and/or community served by the consultant. Amoxie Group consultants are expected to be punctual and communicate with their Amoxie Recruiter in the event they are not available for pre-planned events. Telecommuting/remote work arrangements may be optional depending on the position, with the exception of campus-based consultants that require regular attendance and performing all duties as expected by the Amoxie Group partner. Consultation Services

  • Assist with the implementation of educational programs

  • Consult with Amoxie Group Administrators and Consultants on high profile cases in your area of expertise

  • Consult with parents regarding the educational needs of students and interpretation of evaluation data

  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and other relevant individuals to enhance their work with students

Evaluation Services

  • Receive referrals and implement the assessment and evaluation process

  • Select and administer formal and informal evaluations to make eligibility recommendations according to federal and Texas Education Agency regulations as a member of a multidisciplinary team

  • Score and interpret test data

  • Participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) and/or Section 504 Committee process to assist with the interpretation of assessment data, appropriate placement, and development of education programs for students according to district procedures

  • Reviews multiple sources of data including relevant educational records, evaluation reports, parent, and teacher information to conduct assessments using the most current methods for eligibility identification

  • Maintains timelines and provides written evaluation reports prior to the due date as requested

  • Ensure as an evaluator, you have access to the appropriate supplies to conduct high quality evaluations based on the reported needs of the student to conduct evaluations in all areas of suspected disability

  • Work in conjunction with parents, schools, and outside agencies to ensure proper eligibility identification and educational programming for students

  • Maintain clinical and administrative records in accordance with local, State and Federal guidelines.

School-Based Therapy Services

  • Provide school-based therapy services based on the education program developed for identified students

  • Progress monitoring and make recommendations for modifications to the students education program as appropriate

  • Provide input on student’s progress and consultation to parents, teachers, and other school staff regarding the needs of students.

  • Maintain clinical and administrative records in accordance with local, State and Federal guidelines.

Duty Days: As identified by the consultant. Hours are negotiated at the time the consultant selects to join the Amoxie Group.
